WHAT IS ANTI ANDROGENS

Antiandrogens, also known as androgen antagonists or testosterone blockers, are a class of drugs that prevent androgens like testosterone and dihydrotestosterone (DHT) from their biological effects in the body.

They act by blocking the androgen receptor (AR) and/or inhibiting or suppressing androgen production. They can be thought of as the functional opposites of AR agonists, for instance androgens and anabolic steroids (AAS) like testosterone, DHT, and nandrolone and selective androgen receptor modulators (SARMs) like enobosarm. Antiandrogens are one of three types of sex hormone antagonists, the others being antiestrogens and antiprogestogens.

hope you get this

there are many types of anti androgen

1.Androgen receptor blocker.

2.5α - reductase inhibitors

ANDROGEN RECEPTOR BLOCKER

Mainly used for prostate cancer . Androgen receptor blockers (ARBs), also known as antiandrogens, are medications that prevent male hormones (androgens) from binding to androgen receptors. By blocking this interaction, these drugs stop androgens from fueling the growth of tissues and prostate cancer cells.

these are not very very looksmaxx at looksmaxx at same time as they come with their side effects and is used in to treat cancer and hormonal acne these come in two types steroidal and nonsteroidal.

A steroidal antiandrogen (SAA) : is an antiandrogen with a steroidal chemical structure They are typically antagonists of the androgen receptor (AR) and act both by blocking the effects of androgens like testosterone and dihydrotestosterone (DHT) and by suppressing gonadal androgen production. SAAs lower concentrations of testosterone through simulation of the negative feedback inhibition of the hypothalamus SAAs are used in the treatment of androgen-dependent conditions in men and women, and are also used in veterinary medicine for the same purpose. They are the converse of nonsteroidal antiandrogens (NSAAs), which are antiandrogens that are not steroids and are structurally unrelated to testosterone.
USAGES

Prostate cancer in men
Benign prostatic hyperplasia in men
Androgen-dependent skin and hair conditions like acne, hirsutism seborrhea, and pattern hair loss (androgenic alopecia) in women
other shit are done in women and fags ill link the wiki

Cyproterone acetate (Androcur): A combined AR antagonist and progestogen/antigonadotropin. Also has weak glucocorticoid activity. Previously used widely in the treatment of prostate cancer, but since largely replaced by NSAAs. Also used for androgen-dependent indications in women and transgender women, precocious puberty in boys, and as a means of chemical castration for sexual deviation in men. Widely used in oral contraceptives as well (with ethinylestradiol under the brand names Diane and Diane-35). Not available in the United States. Uniquely among most SAAs, has a high risk of liver changes and hepatotoxicity. Also has a high incidence of psychiatric side effects such as depression, anxiety, and fatigue
this is also good at reducing sebum and hair growth

Spironolactone (Aldactone): An antimineralocorticoid (aldosterone antagonist) with additional/coincidental antiandrogen activity. Specifically acts as an AR antagonist, weak antigonadotropin, and weak steroidogenesis inhibitor. Used for androgen-dependent indications in women and transgender women, particularly in the United States where cyproterone acetate is unavailable. Studied in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia but was found to be ineffective. Contraindicated in prostate cancer due to weak androgenic activity and stimulation of tumor growth. Most commonly used as a diuretic and antihypertensive for cardiovascular disease. Commonly associated with gynecomastia (breast development)

if you have hormonal acne you can go with spironolactone 500 to 200 mg daily

other drug ill link the wiki they have weak anti androgenic activity with weak glucocorticoid activity

Using potent systemic anti-androgens can drastically reduce testosterone levels, which can lead to feminizing side effects, erectile dysfunction, loss of libido, and reduced muscle mass.

A nonsteroidal antiandrogen (NSAA) is an antiandrogen with a nonsteroidal chemical structure. They are typically selective and full or silent antagonists of the androgen receptor (AR) and act by directly blocking the effects of androgens like testosterone and dihydrotestosterone (DHT). NSAAs are used in the treatment of androgen-dependent conditions in men and women They are the converse of steroidal antiandrogens (SAAs), which are antiandrogens that are steroids and are structurally related to testosterone
usages is same as steroidal
Flutamide (Eulexin): Marketed for the treatment of prostate cancer and also used in the treatment of acne, hirsutism, and hyperandrogenism in women. It has also been studied in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia Now little-used due to high incidence of elevated liver enzymes and hepatotoxicity and the availability of safer agents.

RU-58841 (PSK-3841, HMR-3841): A first-generation NSAA related to nilutamide. It was under development as a topical medication for the treatment of acne and pattern hair loss but its development was discontinued during phase I clinical trials. its just block dht directly

here is the wiki if you know more

5α REDUCATSE INHIBTORS

Common one . 5α-Reductase inhibitors (5-ARIs), also known as dihydrotestosterone (DHT) blockers, are a class of medications with antiandrogenic effects which are used primarily in the treatment of enlarged prostate and scalp hair loss. They are also sometimes used to treat excess hair growth in women and as a component of hormone therapy for transgender women.

These agents inhibit the enzyme 5α-reductase, which is involved in the metabolic transformations of a variety of endogenous steroids. 5-ARIs are most known for preventing conversion of testosterone, the major androgen sex hormone, to the more potent androgen dihydrotestosterone (DHT), in certain androgen-associated disorders

5-ARIs are clinically used in the treatment of conditions that are exacerbated by DHT

Mild-to-moderate benign prostatic hyperplasia and lower urinary tract symptoms
Pattern hair loss in both men and women

The usefulness of 5-ARIs for the potential treatment of acne is uncertain. 5-ARIs are sometimes used as antiandrogens in feminizing hormone therapy for transgender women to help reduce body hair growth and scalp hair loss.

yeah these are used for fags too lets get to some drugs and these drugs are mostly used to treat hair loss

5-ARIs are generally well tolerated in both men and women and produce few side effects. However, they have been found to have some risks in studies with men, including slightly increased risks of decreased libido, erectile dysfunction, ejaculatory dysfunction, infertility, breast tenderness, gynecomastia, depression, anxiety, self-harm, and dementia yeah all that shit

By blocking 5-ar you are even potentially pro-androgenic in:

1. Boosting muscle mass from increased serum T; DHT is less anabolic than T because it gets rapidly metabolized into androgens less anabolic T in skeletal muscles, hence why exogenous DHT is very bad at promoting muscle mass gains. If anything suppressing DHT is "pro-androgenic" and anabolic when it comes to building muscle mass.

2. On dutasteride especially it seems like it can chronically elevate T levels on guys even years after starting treatment seemingly both from suppressing T -> DHT conversion systemically but also by reducing DHT production at HPG axis negative feedback levels which leaves androgen receptors less activated and less liable to suppress FSH/LH in response to the elevated serum T levels.

So interestingly 5-ar inhibitors can be pro-androgenic for things like building muscle mass while avoiding detrimental excessively androgenic effects like hair loss, acne, skin aging and BPH... in some ways they're not even total anti-androgens.

Edit: Edited with points to not look like a total deranged maniac, sorry.

By blocking 5-ar you are almost pro androgen in the ways it matter like serum T and building muscle mass, suppressing the trash hormone DHT makes you more likely to acend into being a total stud with better thicker and longer-growth-capable hair, clearer skin, anti-aging in general, no old man BPH issues etc. In some ways 5-ar inhibitors are paradoxically pro androgenic pro masculine pro stud. Some guys end up with very elevated T levels on dutasteride even years after starting treatment, I guess from lack of DHT stimulating androgen receptors regulating the HPG/HPT axis as much plus less conversion of T into DHT body-wide. Thought about thinking like this? In some ways suppressing DHT is pro-androgenic in places that matter like skeletal muscle tissues that if anything boosts ascending even further and anti-androgenic in places you DON'T even want excessive androgenic activity? It becomes like a mix of both in some ways and pro total studmaxxing?

Sorry, hopefully new edited version is better. Really didn't want to poop down your thread. Do you think it can be fair to say 5-ar inhibitors are not even total anti-androgenic in some ways, like boosting serum T that should help building muscle mass, even if the effect probably is often tiny? Or would it be more fair to say they are just pro-anabolic?
