Palate expander

So i just remembered that i had gotten a palate expander with my braces when i was 12

But it hurt and made eating hard so i told my parents to make the dentist remove it and he did

Am i a fucking retard?

My jaw is also assymetrical which probably would have been different if i didnt remove it
