Palate expander

Does a palate expander help with flat maxilla? I have no overbite or anything I just want to improve my maxilla because it’s kind of recessed. My dad also has a recessed maxilla so It’s not because of puberty. My maxilla is very flat and I am still able to change that because I haven’t been fully through puberty yet. Is a palate expander able to fix my flat maxilla ( it’s kinda recessed as well)

A palate expander mainly widens the upper jaw to fix bite or crowding issues, but it won’t really bring a flat or recessed maxilla forward. Since you’re still growing, your face can keep developing, but if your only concern is appearance, an expander probably won’t change much. Best move is to see an orthodontist — they can tell you if expansion or another treatment would actually help in your case.
