I have braces at 13 and my orthodontist said I could get one could it help with maxilla growth?

Depends on the severity of your recession but I'd say a 7 or 8 because although a recessed maxilla/ and or narrow palate can negatively impact your looks, it can also impact your quality of life by causing tooth crowding, a narrow airway making it more diffucult to breathe, bite issues, or even sleep apnea. A palatal expander would combat a lot of these issues. And if you don't get them adressed, you could have a lot of these developmental issues as you get older.
