bros if your a teen and still got that narrow maxilla you need to hop on palate expanders asap. they work way better during teen years because the midpalatal suture is still flexible and not fully fused like in adults. this lets you get real skeletal expansion instead of just teeth tipping.

how they work good:

  • apply steady pressure to split the suture and widen the upper jaw bone itself
  • creates more space for tongue posture which improves breathing and forward growth
  • better airway means higher oxygen and less mouthbreathing cope leading to improved posture and potential spinal alignment gains
  • wider palate supports stronger mandible positioning for that hunter eyes and forward growth look
  • in teens you can achieve 5-10mm or more of true expansion which translates to noticeable facial gains and even slight height posture improvements from better overall craniofacial development

start early like 13-17 and combine with facepulling or proper mewing for maximum results. adults have to deal with surgery or slower gains but teens get the suture to open naturally with less force.

sides are mostly temporary pressure discomfort soreness in the teeth or mild headaches at first. sometimes a gap between front teeth appears which is actually a good sign of skeletal split and can be closed later with ortho. no major long term issues if done right under a good ortho or mse specialist.

Dam I’m in that range and my dentist wanted to get me on MARPE and Invisalign but I’m going to new school next year and don’t wanna seem like a nerd or some shi idk. Should I do this shi bro once I say yes there’s no going back and I’m already pretty high facially and 6ft

Should I go through with this shi. How bad will it be. Can people tell if I have a MARPE in ?

I would but my orthradontist is a j3w and won't let me have one:feelswhy:

theres literally no correlation nigga
buddy:
  • wider palate improves nasal breathing stops mouthbreathing which often causes forward head posture. fixing that straightens your cervical spine and lets you stand taller naturally adding 1-2cm or more in perceived and actual standing height
  • better oxygen and less chronic inflammation supports overall growth hormone efficiency during teen years when your still growing
  • improved tongue posture from extra space pushes the maxilla forward which can influence whole craniofacial development and reduce slouching
  • studies show rme leads to changes in head position cervical lordosis and better postural stability meaning less compression on the spine over time

its not direct like hgh or limb lengthening but for short maxilla cels its one of the best early moves. teens get the most out of it cuz sutures are open and growth spurt is active. adults see posture benefits too but less dramatic.

dont expect 4 inches but 1-3cm from posture + growth optimization is realistic if your consistent with mewing and overall maxxing. get a good mse or expander specialist and track your height weekly. this shit compounds with everything else.

damn bro i feel so bad get a new ortho atp if you can but its ok if you cant you can try fillers when your like over 18 (Dont do under because you will grow into the filler and your bones will fracture and cause internal bleeding)

How noticeable is the expander itself like how bad was your lisp? and could people tell you had one? what did you have?
