Since we already know that surgery assisted expansion in an 18 year old caused massive damage to his looks

I wore palate expander four years, from seven eleven years old.
Theese kids wore it for few months? changes are negligible

by the way there is nothing more subhuman than a narrow palate. Why are you recommending to avoid palate expansion?

Maxillary expansion has to be bone-borne

Palate Expanders or MSE which are inserted by orthodontists are obviously cope

Bone-borne Distractors are not
