there are loads of studies - it used to be used for erectile dysfunction before cialis/viagra but i can't be arsed to dig out

go read bd's big book of girth or length or whatever they're called, bd and hink have youtube channels

personally i did it - i can't necessarily vouch for results per se as i did a bunch of things - bathmate, the interval air pumping (but i never liked it and couldn't hold it at any real pressure), the penimaster, and i don't know if it was also puberty but i'd been around 6 inches in length for a very long time and i went up over 3 years to around 7.25-7.5, it really depends on erection quality. with a weak erection i can be about 7. but measured bone pressed 7.5-7.6ish with a good eq.
i never kept track of girth, it's seemed to continue to be proportionate, it's only 5.5-5.75 around, maybe it was 5.25 before - honestly i have no idea, i'm guessing from old memory and imperfect measuring. the girth is what is commented on more, so i guess if that came from anything it would probably be the bathmate, and good eq from viagra.

dosent it slowly revert back to original size once you stop?
