Permanent Retainers Suck

Does anyone else here have permanent retainers (wire behind top 4 teeth and 6 bottom) this shit is uncomfortable asf even after 2 years. I feel like this hindered my jaw development

yeah my jaw doesnt seem recessed (atleast to me) ive just been seeing so many mixed opinions online

Anyone who got orthodontics should go to an airway ortho and get a scan of there airway because all traditional orthos camouflage skeletal issues.

Call your orthodontist office and request all medical records and get in contact with someone who understands craniofacial development.

You think i should get the retainers off? My teeth before braces were not really that bad, just one teeth crowded in the bottom and a gap at the top in between my front 2 teeth

There’s no point to get the retainers off.

If you started with a class I bite and just had crowding chances are it didn’t cause any major development change.

That’s why it’s important to see your orthodontic records. Class II or III, or a narrow pallet that wasn’t addressed means you have bigger issues to face.
