Possible to get thick beard with beard transplant?

It may not be a looksmax making this question moot, but if there are people that it would benefit would it be possible with a beard transplant to ascend from starting without the ability to grow good looking stubble at all to the point of being able to grow a full thick beard? The before-afters I see look like people already have a medium level beard rather than having close to minimal facial hair growth.
