1. Rank females within a population based on their AMV (aggregate market value = SMV + RMV).
2. From the top down, examine all of their male sexual partners with the intention of finding the one with the lowest possible RMV.

Essentially, pinpointing a low RMV male sexual partner with the highest possible AMV female establishes comparatively high male SMV. In other words, in order for a valuable woman to have sex with a man who offers very little survival benefit, he has to have high quality sperm.
