Proof that Tall Chin is NOT ideal w examples

this seems like a topic that isnt discussed enough on here. the vertical LENGTH of your chin can really be a failo if its too short or too long.

to prove this point I measured the chin to philtrum ratios of 13 gl guys, and tried my best to find photos of them with a neutral facial expression and directly facing the camera

the results:

miroslav cech - 2.60

??? - 2.03 chin to philtrum

bale - 2.31

james kakonge - 2.25

serrano 6 - 2.61

meeks - 2.33

gandy - 2.33

cavill - 2.47

eriksen - 2.60

sendhil - 2.20

o pry - 3.04

chico - 2.40

also did leo di caprio and got 2.37 (photo wouldn't upload)

Only Sean O'Pry got a chin to philtrum above 3. But I would say he might look better with a ratio closer to 2.50

And does this mean that a chin to philtrum ratio of over 3 is a failo?

And if so what can be done about a chin thats too long?

For a chin thats too short I'd recommend genio, and then implants if necessary

This also ends the whole tall chin is ideal idea, unless someone can show otherwise

and yeah I guess but I'm trying to determine at what point the increased chin height takes away from SMV. cos by that logic gigachad's chin would be ideal but I doubt most women in real life would find his chin attractive

It depends on how it relates to the rest of the face. Any tall man will have a longer face (and chin) than a short man, for instance.

still trying to figure this one out. wide, short chins look aesthetic to me where as taller, less wide not as much (still look good though)

but its not about what we find attractive but what women do, so we need to figure that out next

this discussiom is actually important for people who want to add height to the lower third either through implants or chin wing/genioplasty or jaw surgery

take a look at justin chadwin

his lower third is quite small compared to his neurocranium and forehead. but the relation between his philtrum and chin height is already quite good. so adding an implant would probably destroy these harmony and has the risk of leading to an uncanny result.

we have to keep in mind that this relation can give our brain unconscious hints whether the person has an over or underbite. i noticed people with an overbite tend to have a very short chin height compared to the philtrum while its vice versa for people with an underbite.

chadwin has a good jaw relation and hence is relation of philtrum is good and harmonius. however his jaw (both and upper) are a bit short and weak (probably has smalll teeth too) so its relatively small compared to his neurocranium. in oder to fix that you would have to replace his wholw jaw including soft tissue.


compared this guy in the before to chadwin. his lower third is even not as small to his forehead compared to chadwin however the relation of philtrum size to chin height is completely fucked. he is an ideal candidate for surgery

id say , ideal philitrum chin ratio is 2.5 to 3

people place too much importance on chin height while forward projection of chin , width of chin and ur gonial angle also matter and they are what create the big chin look , just a tall chin wont mean shit if its recessed and narrow
