It's not "recreational" like some benzos are, it lowers your blood pressure and heart rate, so you won't panic in anxiety-inducing situations. If you stay at home and you are calm and relaxed it doesn't do anything. If you have to give a speech in front of hundreds of people, and you start to panic, it can be a life saver...
