Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the founder of Islam and is considered the last prophet in Islamic tradition. He was born in Mecca, in present-day Saudi Arabia, around the year 570 CE. Muhammad is highly regarded by Muslims as a model of moral and ethical behavior.
He received revelations from God (Allah in Arabic) over a period of 23 years, which were later compiled into the Quran, the holy book of Islam. His teachings emphasized monotheism, social justice, and compassion. Muhammad's life and sayings, known as Hadith, provide guidance for Muslims on how to live a virtuous life.
Muhammad's role as a prophet and leader extended beyond his religious teachings; he united the Arabian tribes and established a strong community based on faith. His migration to Medina in 622 CE, known as the Hijra, marks the beginning of the Islamic lunar calendar.
Prophet Muhammad's legacy continues to influence the lives of billions of Muslims worldwide, and he is a central figure in Islamic faith and history.
