Question on braces

I'm going to the orthodontist in 25 days because I have a slightly narrow palate. What will they give me: braces or a palate expander? or nothing because this question cant be answered like this ?

If I get braces, it's going to be for a maximum of 6-7 months, and I can't have or ask for anything other than braces (if they are given to me) because my country will not refund it, so what do i need to do ?
