so I am 15 years old and I am obese, like over 28% bf. I have been in a calorie deficit for awhile but I just am not seeing enough progress. I am considering starve maxxing but I dont want to halt the development of my bones. is this safe to do?

Bro don't do it, I would just eat slightly below a maintain calories to slowly cut down, and burn calories too bro. Make sure you get your nutrients in too, but whatever you do do not starvemax in puberty it is never worth it

Never starve yourself before like 18. Being a manlet is a lot worse than being a fatcel in HS.

It’s ok if you’re a little chubby. Just lose it slowly. You’ll be able to slay in your 20s and in college.

A dedicated cut can drop like 10 pounds in a month if you’re a fatty going in anyways, so there’s no real issue with bulking up in HS and then dropping it the summer before college anyways. Try lifting weights a little to add muscle if anything

In someones situation like this guy who's obese in critical teen years, obviously being obese is hormonally bad. For GH/igf1 secretion as well, but caloric deficits are bad in this time.

It's a dilemma you can't really get out of without exogenous hormones, so which would you gamble on? stay fat but stay in maintenance calories or cut and get the aesthetic/hormonal benefits of being leaner but losing out on growth due to calories.

Which one do you choose or leverage?

It’s fine. 15 years old doesn’t really matter a whole lot. You need to be able to perform at like 18. You can lose the weight in like 6 months if you’re smart about it when the time comes.

However calories burned vs calories in doesn't matter as long as what you're not over burning. Because a good chunk of that fuel will be used for you to walk instead of grow obviously.

So you want to make sure that if you walk everyday, you calculate your maintenance according to that.

That's if you want to keep growing of course.

would a severe cut for a few months to lean down really be that detrimental to my development?

Severe cut yes, I wouldn't do it. I'd do a 500-1000cal deficit for max 2 months. And I'm stretching it with the 1000cal I don't think I'd ever do that unless I was obese.

If you're a fat fuck just forget about trimming down a bit for summer, focus on growing. Being fat actually isn't as detrimental as people think for growth.

Just have to be extra precautious of the food you eat when fat, eat a lot of meat.

I wouldn't risk stunting your growth to lose fat. you'll still grow it'll just be slower. IGF-1 needs an abundance of calories/nutrients to work optimally. hence it's called stunting and not stopping growth.
