Like seriously. I read like dozens of books and I could barely remember much from it years later. Meanwhile, my friend who I read those same books alongside with can retain a lot from it, use the information whenever necessary like thinking about stuff, in conversation and in writing something sophisticated like an essay or article . When you read books as average IQ person, you pretty much are just pouring water from a jug into a tiny ass bowl where most of the water aka information just spills out. Better to not read if your intention is to get smarter. Just read if you like idk enjoy it. I wish I came to this realization sooner.

Better off just reading the summary to get the essentials tbh.

Philosophy books are best read when critically thinking about them, average iqcels aren't effective in that regard because they lack a library of information (long term mem) , the short term working memory and processing speeds to use in the critical thinking process.

You should actively engage with the material: annotate, record yourself discussing key passages, extrapolate key ideas, etc.
Passive reading is lame and leads to poor retention and limited application.

Try reading books about crimes like the Port Arthur Massacre or serial killers, easy to understand

Do you have any book recommendations for productivity/lifemaxxing?

An average iqcel can spend way more time to "actively engage" with the material instead, still have issues remembering stuff and wont even have any cool takes about it. Meanwhile, an high iq chad passivley reads at abnormal reading speed, retains all the info and forms unique insights during the reading.

High IQ for you is like 60IQ for me 😂😂😂 smartest people in the world never touched a book

This is exactly what intelligent people are doing, they just enjoy more difficult reading material.

Generally only do things because you genuinely want to do them, not because you feel like you have to do it to reach some outcome.

Philosophy books can be really dense and complicated. Not accessible at all. Imagine reading 400+ pages and not understanding a single word. Some philosophers are like that. Especially nowadays.

Hence the Sokal hoax

Your username, join date, the way you use emojis are all signs for your subhuman IQ btw.

Alright so if the smartest people in the world never touched a book, how did they get their knowledge?

Humans can only either learn from experiences/experiments or from teachers/books, you are telling me all the geniuses refrain from the latter method?

It took me a long time to understand shi
I started my journey at 13 reading novels for Kafka , Dostoevsky , Orwell , Tolstoy ect..
Then it took a turn into philosophy , Nietzsche Jean Paul , Camus , etc ..(imagine 14 years old kid reading for Nietzsche jfl) so I trained my mind to dissecting & critical thinking every page as much as possible

Most of I read to was classic and old didn't read to any one from Modern philosophers tbh

I think guys like Nietzsche, Sartre and Camus are okay because they tell parables.

But someone like Hegel, Kant or Derrida are too fucking mind blowing. It's better just to read summaries.

active engagement isn't just about understanding the material, it's about skill development. "high iq chads" are people who have been exposed to challenging stimulus for longer. Yes, some people are natural learners, but reading books that are difficult (syntactically complex and information dense) will always result in increased abilitues *unless you have a serious, diagnosed disability*. if you don't believe this look into nueroplasticity. not wanting to read is fine, but trying to discourage ppl from growth is absurd cope. happy reading..
