What can I tell my orthodontist or maxillofacial if my bite is fine (I used braces when I was a child) but my jaw and chin is recessed (I was mouthbreather)
and I have a narrow palate. I could say that I suffer from sleep apnea or something like that?

Nose changed with better projection making it more straight
And i have a bump which got less noticeable
But im getting a rhino to fix it this year
Idk i dealed with a bad bite, for you that a have a good bite probably a genioplasty?
This is like 20-30 days post surgery pretty swollen everywhere which unironically made my side profile better lmao

Its hard especially the fact that i couldnt eat anything solid for two months
Dropped a ton of weight
Got extremely skinny, 60kg and 6ft
There are many possible complications like losing sensation in the jaw forever due to the nerves.
Infections
Bleeding
You also have to be extremely careful of not falling or hitting yourself or you can basically fuck up everything since the first month its like the bones are glued.
Takes 4-6 months for the bone to perfectly heal, then a year for it to be stronger than it was.
I could make a thread explaining how all the recovery process is, and things i went through

I'll just post a few back here since people seem to be curious what was deleted. Was just making the point that for the people who really NEED it, with a good surgeon, orthognathic surgery can be transformative. Some of these had other proceedures as well, but underpinned by jaw surgery.

He still looks somewhat recessed to me. No under-eye support, high gonial angle, hook nose, longish midface. His case would actually require significant counterclockwise rotation
