Well, even back in my days there were girls who would start their sex life at 14-15, some even younger. Others would wait, from what I've noticed chatting with many of them, 16-17 seemed to be the average age most would start having sex. However, even these girls would start dating and have boyfriends at 14-15, which meant those guys would sometimes have to wait like 2-3 years in a relationship before having sex.
Imagine waiting that long for sex at an age when your hormones are the highest level...
Sometimes those guys didn't even get to have sex with their first girlfriend, they would get dumped for whatever reason, then their ex would start a relationship with another guy who would then take their virginity sometimes after only a few days or weeks of dating.
