No he wasn't. He was raised as an orthodox christian but rejected his religion later. --- he stopped being a part of the organized Serbian Orthodox church but he continued to believe in God

Even if some of the smartest people in history were christians, that's because there was whole parts of history where if you were an admitted atheist, you were a public leper. Now THAT is selection bias. --- there was no atheist persecution, if you're referring to the Catholic inquisitions they only applied to members of the church for severe heresy

How is it selection bias lol, you haven't even read the study. --- yeah not fully but i know it's falios among which: no account for confounding variables, didn't control for wealth, education, nutrition or environment of any kind, it's only correlation not causation, it's like me saying that people who buy icecream have higher rate of sunburn so it means that icecream causes sunburns and much more

again dude, read the actual study, 4-5% of the iq difference is possible dud to religion, the other 95% is everything else

that's it's 1. correlation not causation, 2. only 5% of the difference is actually explained by religion, 3. it's only a one country meta study, Christians in for example Japan have on average higher iq
