im struggling with my religion at the moment. I was brought up catholic and all my family are but i feel like god hates me and doesnt even care about earth anymore. i like the idea of satanism in that you are your own god and i’ve debated dropping religion altogether but every time i think of becoming a satanist or agnostic i feel so guilty and bad about how id be letting down my family and wasting the years i spent as a roman catholic

Religious guilt is a real thing.

Don't think of continuing to be RC because of how long you were RC for; This is just Dead Horse theory. Once you understand you are on a Dead Horse, the best thing to do is get off it instead of staying on it and hoping it runs.

That being said, I think that you should reread the Bible. The way the church and the way families teach religion to their children is often quite faulty.

If you feel that God hates you, again reread the Bible (or any major religious text) and understand that God doesn't really hate people. He may punish people, but that does not mean He hates you.

Always keep your mind open, don't try to force yourself to be RC or to become a Satanist or Agnostic. Stay educated and you will find your path.
