Yeah, it's a lot of work, and 2 weeks of 24/7 monitoring the whole thing.
Since I'm not hosting it, I'm the wrong person to give the suggestion. Talk to whoever wishes to host it this year (if it gets hosted at all).

Yes i do but i understand this is an important event for regular forum users so if you could teach me that would be great, im free from december 4th until march next year, im kind of busy right now since its my last day of high school and next year im going to Uni so im really excited.

So, FUOTY (Also known as Forum User Of The Year) is a two to three week tournament (approximately) where users compete and campaign for the title of winner. It begins with an announcement is made a week before. This announcement is important since it prepares the forum for the tournament and declares you as the official host.

Necessary tools for the tournament:

• Laptop/Desktop
• An account on a hostable, linkable online bracket software like Challonge (to host the bracket): Example from 2023 -> https://challonge.com/efyl16mr
• A fair amount of spare time, and extreme punctuality.
• Not being lazy with thread-making, decent formatting skills.
• Impartiality. Do not be corrupt.
• Capacity to make FUOTY entertaining

Failure to have these attributes would not make you a good candidate for this job.

FUOTY 2024 Schedule

• December 1st-7th, 2024 (choose a date in that range): Host Announcement, declare the date and time (with time zone) of FUOTY Day 1, for example: Dec 12, 2024, at 2pm EST.
• December 14th, 2024 (you choose the start time): Qualification Round begins. Lasts for 1 week. You MUST end the qualification round 168 hours (1 week) after the qualification round has been started (if the qualification round starts at dec 14 at 7am EST for example, it must finish at dec 21 at 7am EST. No exceptions)
• December 21st, 2024: Break.
• December 22nd, 2024: Elimination Rounds begin, starting with the 1st and 2nd sets Round of 16 matches
• December 23rd, 2024: 3rd and 4th set of round of 16 matches
• December 24th, 2024: 5th and 6th...
• December 25th, 2024: 7th and 8th...
• December 26th, 2024: 1st and 2nd sets of Quarter Finals
• December 27th, 2024: 3rd and 4th sets of quarter finals
• December 28th, 2024: 1st semi final
• December 29th, 2024: 2nd semi final
• December 30th, 2024: Third place (losers of the semi finals)
• December 31st, 2024, finals
• January 1st, 2025: Award Ceremony

On the first day of the tournament, you will start with an opening thread that welcomes everyone to the tournament and tells them about the tournament, how its won and the past winners and other relevant information. This is the Qualification Round.

Players can only vote for up to 3 other users. If they vote for 3 users, they get a vote for themselves. They cannot vote for more than 3 users, and you will have to tell them to remove users until they get to 3 users or less. You will keep a leaderboard, which you will have to update as frequently as possible. The top 16 voted users move onto the next round. If there are two users with the same amount of votes, you must allow the person who has more reputation the advantage position.
