I actually looked into this last year and I think it applies more for cartilage. The idea is you apply electrical current to cartilage and it becomes malleable. So essentially tiny needles with current are put into say the lower lateral cartilages and they are then molded with a 3D mold or by force and when the current turns off the cartilage will hold its new place. I.E smaller nose, ear etc. Would be cool if someone on here could do a makeshift version of this and be a guinea pig to try it out.

There's a video of one of the researches that worked on this discussing it more in depth at a conference in Orlando a few months ago if you want more details on this.
