I was in the military for 3 years. Part of the reserved youth force attached to the 5 Jatts. Did they make me work like a slave every single day during camps yes. Did my CO constantly keep barking orders at me Also yes. I was over worked, abused and treated like trash

But to put it bluntly I was at that time a degenerate alcoholic at the time. I had no where to go, no purpose in my life and I found a home in the army. The ones who enlist are generally guys like me without any direction in life or from improvished poor backgrounds or people looking for a fresh start. I've rarely seen guys join the army out of pure patriotism or looking for glory. Most niggas that enlist are just lost in various phases of life

I went in broken, but I came out in control of my life. It changed me in ways I didn't expect. It was worth it atleast for me but I also don't think it is for everyone or something that should be recommended as default.

Just didnโ€™t expect a user with this many posts to show face out of nowhere. I thought it would be a bad idea maybe because of weird people here

Military isn't for the weak, it hammers your mindset and forges it forever

Thanks for sharing, gives hope for life in general, a sour situation turning sweet by time

When joining the army, was IT something you already had in mind before joining? Iโ€™m at the point in life where my head is telling me to join the army for some reason.

Army in my country provide great benefits. You can be set up for life after just 8 years of serving. They are even paying you for studying on a military university. I think itโ€™s a great choice if you donโ€™t know what to do in life
