is it like a 9-5? do u have a boss and go to the office everyday?

The most common question is how does someone do the same, how you liking the UK tax btw?

Yes, like a 8-6:30. Office every day yeah there's desk leads etc but no "boss" that'll micromanage.

It's amazing. UK tax system is great. The ISA is suited perfectly for long term capital compounding.

If you're talking about my crypto trading? That was with my own money starting with ~1k, which I turned into several hundred K in a few months.

For obvious reasons I don't talk about firm trading online...

how does one learn what u do at 16
You can always start learning but I think people's expectations and sheer will and intelligence are always off. You should be having fun at 16.

People can learn stuff I learned later than 16, at 16.

You need to learn through experience though. If you're sharp, motivated and ask a bunch of questions you'll move yourself towards what you want. That's my philosophy.

And what do you trade? Do have your own models?
Just about everything. Personally I can just trade crypto and yeah I have different automated systems.

what's your iq

is it possible to do what you do without a specific degree (I mean if they'll even let you do this, not that you can't)

how did moving up in corporate ladder look like in your case

Idk my IQ.

Moving up the "corporate ladder" is unwinnable; so I switched careers completely.

I used to work in old guard finance, where merit was punished, and anything like building systems, precision, value-driven... anything non-opaque was never rewarded - that's why I quit. In quant finance (specific firms), there's no "corporate ladder" but the burden of outcome is completely brutal. So I had some good training grounds.

I feel like older, non tech savvy people in finance firms are threatened by AI. Pay suppression is rampant. You want to steer yourself away from Cronyism and Nepotism permanently. Your gut feel well be the best tell if you think your boss is lying to you about "you're still early in your journey", "you're still junior".

In trading - outcome = everything. Which is tough ngl. But it's far more rewarding than going insane seeing retards get promoted ahead of you when you control the entire nervous system for a firm that only wants to control the narrative and manage decline.

I mean, degrees don't matter too much. Experience and mathsy degrees in top tier unis will help. The real thing that'll land you and offer is quick thinking. Systems thinking, mental math, ability to learn, adapt, build, execute. Taking ownership for your failures and turning them into successes quick.

You need a high IQ for sure. Deadweight isn't tolerated. And weirdly in "prestigious" firms, deadweight that sings the narrative is protected, because they validate the existence of retarded middle managers and seniors. That's just the way it is.

AI will do something over the next year. Total fallout between real revenue generators and crony narrative drivers, idk? Lets see.

Most firms are not meritocracies.

Erm i just turned 1k into 100k in a few months no biggie lmao why dont you 100x the 100k in a few months
and you have not answered what type of trader you are what type of firm you work for you dont have to reveal the name and what a typical day looks like your looking like a larper also do you have any link to your crypto portfolio?

explain to me what does a average day of trading look like to you what tools and skillset do you use at your workplace
We trade edge over discretion. So it's pretty much all stat arb, market making, and low latency. None of the trading is long-term, it's all microstructure alpha and flow imbalance; impossible for retail traders to replicate. The systems are all bespoke and coded in a pretty random language (probably for good reason... type safe and functional). Basically it's just like being the casino. Favourable edge over time. Nothing is up in the air. If the system doesn't have edge, it won't even be approved.

It's very different to how I trade personally. And the tools I use personally are completely different. Constantly looking at screens all day, no meetings unless needed. Very very smart people.

I tried to continue trading and lost a lot in Jan - Jun 2024. The method I used to trade SOL was a low volatility trend following type system. The markets weren't so easy after Dec 2023. And I blew out my risk quite a bit. I am lucky I didn't lose everything I made, but it was still an amazing trade.

I don't hold cryptocurrencies, just trade them when the markets look good (although I should probably hold some BTC!)

lmao no - no Iman Gadzhi :lul:

I've met some people I can call "mentors" along the way. Usually just in the way of life advice. Where I work you'll be pushed past your limits so there's nothing like a teacher or anything. Anyone who's a nice person = ally

Whats the first step should i do ?

Well personal trading is different. I've written quite a lot about it on here already. Identifying price trendiness and capitalising on it is KEY.

Hey man, that's very impressive, I'm very happy for you.

If you have any advice on how to get started or any recommendations on what to invest in, that would be awesome!

I'm in a position, where I can invest all the money I earn from a job.

At what age did you start earning a significant amount from trading

I'd just invest in tech stocks and AI stuff. (NASDAQ index, Microsoft)... Idk why you would invest EVERYTHING from your job though, why? You'll have nothing left over.

I've been interested in trading for over a decade. Personal P&L fluctuates but I get paid full time for it too. I've been interested in trading systems etc since a teen so that question is hard to answer. The passion never dies, the P&L varies haha

Gotcha, appreciate the advice.

The reason I'm willing to invest everything from my job is because my parents are already rich. They provide me everything I need. They just won't give me enough money for surgery, thats why I'm okay with investing everything.

Do you have any predictions for stocks, crypto?

Well you need to be so motivated to work at a quant shop in the first place that it overtakes every single thing in your life. And yes, way way harder for someone who can't grasp advanced logic, systems and is not genuinely gifted. Connections doesn't matter too much for quant but you need a top degree technical from a top college (which you need connections for in the first place).

There's a ton people could be learning right now to put themselves in an advantageous position. But no one has ever talked about it. It doesn't relate to trading or anything.

People should learn game theory, widescale incentive mapping and how leverage really works.

Have leverage then talk only when silence costs more.

Are you happy?
How much happier are you now making this much than before?
How old are you (approximately if you don’t want to share your exact age)?
Do you see yourself doing this for the rest of your career?
