Revealing my major ITT

Crazy stuff, going form perma NEET rotter to standing in front of a classroom teaching teenagers(?), what a turnaround
Yeah, it’s such a 180. I’m easily the most non-NT person in the class, during literary debates I’m the only one who’s quiet and never says a word. We get graded on our participation so I do believe I will fail that class. Joever.

Imagine finding your teacher on org
That would be funny. XD

The student would be like “if you don’t get me 10s, I will show you all the posts where you said nigger.” :ogre:

Nah ahahah, they don’t hire brown non-English-speaking guys. The only time they do is when you’re brown but also from the UK, US, Canada, etc. Plus, realistically speaking, I only see myself teaching here in The Netherlands.
Good thing you aren't brown you fakecel :ogre:

I mean I’m South Asian. And they want Europeans, that’s the only time they’ll make an exception if you’re not from an official English-speaking country. Discrimination is alive and well.

Tbh, I’ve always liked classroom settings. Ever since I was a teen. I had this strange… desire to just check out every high school, roam the hallways, etc. It’s weird, I know. Also, it’s the only thing I see myself doing. I’m not good with my hands, not good with brain stuff either but I’m pretty good at English, it’s the only thing I can do well. It’s also not physically tiresome either.

Yes, it would be teaching English as a language; however, during my studies, I’m going into depth when it comes to grammar, as well as literature. For sure, send me over what you have and I’ll take a look!
oh its still in the early stages yknow. I have the assignment starting in week 8, due in 10. i haven't even written a draft of analysis yet, my class is still in the early stages of prepping for the transcript. when it comes I'll let u know im in week 5 so in like 2-3 weeks time

Alright, take your time but don’t take too long either! One of my classmates does all his work on time, weeks before it’s supposed to be done. I’m gonna be like that as well. I’ve always been a procrastinator but I hate it. I’d rather finish my work early and then just chill and chill and chill. :Comfy:

I’m majoring in Education. I’m studying to become a teacher! I like how nobody guessed it right. That’s why I always try to use proper grammar, and it’s also why I correct people’s spelling mistakes. Not to be a know-it-all, but because it’s literally going to be my job. So why not get into the spirit early on? The other day, @acm said interacting with me unironically improved his grammar. That seriously made my day. What more could a future teacher want to hear?!

yeah I'm in my final year of HS so I'm doing everything to be ahead of class. I'm either ahead or in pace with all my classes. especially like an important subject like English (only mandatory subject in australia) I'm trying my best to get ahead and write a crazy analysis.

You might be joking about it now, but I guarantee you will hear PSL terms being unironically used by students lmao

Trending bp content definitely would be a lot less common in 5 years, but I still think some terms will still be prevalent in normie vocab

English is a mandatory subject in The Netherlands as well, along with Dutch and math.

Thanks for the nice words, bhaijaan! I do think my easygoing personality makes it a good fit. However, being a qualified teacher isn’t something I can easily become. I have a lot of theoretical stuff to learn as well as practical experience that I need. Right now I’ve got basically nothing. I’ll start student teaching next semester (early 2026).

I don’t think so, but the point of being a teacher is first and foremost to teach students. I wouldn’t call any of the teachers I had a role model, if I can be honest.
