I believe there was also someone else before they started their attack. I believe it was Brown. I forgot his first name. Eric and he had a falling out after Eric threw a rock or whatever at his windshield. I think his name was Brook? I’m not sure. When he saw him outside of the school, he said he should go home. Something like that.
yes it was brooks brown eric arivved around 11 and brooks came for a cigarete and saw eric they had some test and eric never skipped tests so he said to him why he wasn't in a test eric said it dosen't matter and that he likes him and to go home.

i studied columbine for a 2 weeks i am intrested in this situation i watched every yt video about it

damn brah W profession, you better be one of the chill ngas who teach well, anyways wish you well 🙌
I hope to be that way! I have so much to learn. I definitely think I’d be one of those chill teachers that’s well-liked. However, the only downside is they might not see me as an authority figure (which is needed for classroom management), so I can’t be too chill. There has to be a balance. Kind of reminds me of my biology teacher in freshman year of high school. He was chill but also disciplined me if I didn’t do things right (like deducting points for writing “dicks” instead of “penis” when we had our exam on sex education).

Teachers in Europe ain't in much better position either. People I know mostly left school after short practice to do other work or private teaching.
Unfortunately, our schools seem to be public. I hope things won’t be as bad here in The Netherlands, but there’s only way to find out. I have teachers in my class and they say your experience will be highly dependent of the school that you’re teaching in. Some schools are lovely but others will it a draining experience. One thing I’ve heard from every teacher so far is that the first year of teaching is always the hardest. Some people just want to quit (kind of like what you said here), but others keep going at it and they end up loving it. I hope I will love it too!

I’m majoring in Education. I’m studying to become a teacher! I like how nobody guessed it right. That’s why I always try to use proper grammar, and it’s also why I correct people’s spelling mistakes. Not to be a know-it-all, but because it’s literally going to be my job. So why not get into the spirit early on? The other day, @acm said interacting with me unironically improved his grammar. That seriously made my day. What more could a future teacher want to hear?!

Now you have to delete your account to pursue your job

That's awesome dude. I'm so happy for you because its extremely rewarding. I've done a lot of jobs and being a teacher is hands down the one I miss the most.

One of the best things I loved about being a teacher is it's really easy to break up the monotony. It's one of the only jobs I feel like where you can go to the same place every day and not get too bored.

You gotta be tough though. I worked pipeline construction out on the Colorado border before but being around dudes like that was nothing compared to the anxiety I felt the first time I was thrust into a classroom of a bunch of spoiled middle schoolers, and in charge.

Here's a tip. Don't be scared of the bad boys. They'll test you during the first few days but but as long as you show no fear, even if you look a little stupid sometimes, they'll love you real quick no matter what. The bad boys will bark at you at first, but they're very often the best of students and after getting to know you they will help you enforce things when other students are fucking around.

Always look for opportunities to reveal fun things about yourself to your students and they will love you. Show some character and tease them a little.

Ohhhh my bad. Joever for my reading comprehension skills. I thought you knew about the case for 2 weeks only. How did you hear about it? I learned about it through some scripted crime TV show and they showed a picture of Eric and Dylan. Became interested, googled it.

by chill i mean one of those teachers that students feel comfortable enough to confide in, going through the school system i have yet not found a single teacher i can just enter their class and chat w if im ever feeling like shi. You gotta be motivational and obviously teach whats necessary and maybe add some life stories along side this, i had an english teacher who everyone rated and he taught well and at the same time he wasnt walked over by the students he held his position of power well

Thank you very much for the tips, I’ll definitely take them to heart, and also for sharing your personal experiences not only as a teacher. Can I ask why you quit? I gotta say, I’ve not been in front of a classroom yet but I can only imagine how nervous I would be the first time. I already have to get into student teaching the next semester (early 2026), I just need to find a place to do my internship at. For now, I haven’t found anything. I hope I get a more easygoing class, however, it’d be deserved if I get a chaotic class because when I was in high school, our class was the worst, almost all the teachers hated us. XD

Thanks for elaborating what you meant! I thought you meant it as “not being uppity.” I actually had an English teacher myself who was like that as well, he was chill like the way you described but he was also in a position of power; students knew they couldn’t misbehave with him. I hope I get to be the kind of teacher that you were talking about here (not the English teacher, but the kind of teacher who students feel like they can come to and chat with, whether it’s personal stuff or just whatever).

Stop that thinking right now.

Getting an easygoing class? Get that out of your head. You should pray for the worst class possible for your first.

There's nothing like walking into a classroom full of hellions and thinking to yourself, "You guys think your bad? You should have seen what I overcome before in the classroom, and I know we're gonna get along just fine."

In these situations you should seek discomfort in order to be generally comfortable. It's your trade right? You don't want to one day walk into a situation where you feel unconfident and ashamed, so it's best to try to get it all out of the way in the beginning.

To be honest you'll probably be put through a boot camp of sorts. You'll probably get a battery of the worst of the worst classrooms to better prepare you. That's what happened to me.

The first school I worked at I was a very shitty teacher. It was a good school and I worked 8 months there before finally getting fired for just not being good enough. The school was very easy going and the students were very well behaved. After that I moved to another city and this lady employed me. She put me through a boot camp teaching at public and private schools around the city. I dealt with a lot of really misbehaved students. It was during that time though that I figured out how to break out of my shell and actually teach like a man. Not without a lot of extremely uncomfortable situations though where I looked really dumb.

Expect and embrace it. You'll be alright.

I quit teaching because I had to come back to America. I don't have a degree so I can't teach here.

Within the next 5 months though we'll be immigrating to Russia. And you can bet I'll be teaching again.

Of course, I’ll still be posting here! I won’t get my degree anytime soon, it takes four years in total. XD

Even when I get my degree, I won’t be working full-time, just part-time. :Comfy:

So, I promise I won’t leave you guys. :feelsautistic:

Thank you for the reality check, I appreciate it. You’re right, I shouldn’t be expecting an easy-going class. I was actually thinking that perhaps I should start off easy, and get used to difficult classes as I gain more experience. I’ll admit that I first thought I should actually pick a harsher environment, but I know myself. I tend to get demotivated easily and I feel like taking smaller steps is the best way for me to go about this. I’m really interested in your experiences, man! Would you mind sharing them? You can send me a private message as well. By the way, don’t take this the wrong way. I’m not trying to stay in my comfort zone. I’m already getting out of my comfort zone. Even during my study. I’m required to film myself. For the longest of times, I’ve avoided these situations exactly because they made me uncomfortable. For my upcoming assignment I have to do a video recording of myself. I’m going to do it because there’s no other way around it. I’m getting out of my comfort zone little by little. That makes sense as to why you quit teaching. You’re right, especially in the west they require you to have a degree. Is this not the case in Russia? It also wasn’t the case in East Asia at first, lots of people went there to teach but now they’re required to have a degree. I won’t be going there to teach since they only want white teachers since East Asians seem to think only white people can teach others English.
