Ive been using 10% salicylic acid for 3~ months
I’m not seeing any improvement. If anything, my skin just feels more irritated and dry without actually clearing up.
At this stage, I’m starting to think my acne might be too stubborn for topical treatments alone. I’ve been looking into Accutane as a more serious option, since I’ve heard it can be effective when nothing else works.
Although side effects seem less then ideal.
Has anyone else had a similar experience where salicylic acid just did nothing for them? And for those who went on Accutane, was it worth it despite the side effects?

Salicylic acid was never meant for acne in the first place, it’s for exfoliation. You’ve been using it for the wrong purpose lol

Simply put, salicylic acid helps clear existing clogs and retinoids prevent new clogs from forming. I think using both can be beneficial

makes sense, in my mind i always felt tret and cleansing is enough

ill order salic and let you know how it goes, also do you like cantella? is it worth it for my isotret journey as a stronger moistruizer

Almost any moisturizer without harsh essential oils is ok. Haven’t used centella myself but if the ingredients are good, there shouldn’t be any issues

this one seems diff and promising heres an explanation on it via ai

100% Centella Asiatica (often called Cica or Madagascar centella) functions primarily as a potent calming, hydrating, and barrier-repairing agent. Its mechanism involves active triterpenoids (asiaticoside and madecassoside) that stimulate collagen production, reduce inflammation, and enhance skin barrier function, making it ideal for soothing acne-prone, sensitive, or damaged skin. I think the "100%" usually means centella extract is the only active ingredient. It’s pretty gentle in that case
