Dude niggas on reddit are so useless they have a whole subreddit but its just the same "I CURED MY SD FINALLY11!!!1!" before returning a week later. Ive tried the 3 main otc treatments (zinc, ketoconazole, selenium sulfide) and atp they all do close to nothing. Nizoral/ketoconazole worked great for about a week, then it started to dry out my scalp, which gave me dry/snowy dandruff and worsened my oily scalp later on.

Id like to get any help i can on this, whether it be treatments or just cope. i had minor dandruff and occasional grease flair ups early this year but it was nowhere near as bad, it got really fkn bad after i went on vacation in the summer and hasnt gotten better since.

Use shampoo, moistururize appropriately, shower with water daily, and shampoo once a week

Use keto shampoo to wash once a week then coconut oil + aloe vera mix while hair is wet, leave it in.

Done, seb derm fixed.

Wash with cold water only after so you don’t strip the oils from the scalp.

Use an electric scalp massager every day to clean your scalp from gunk and dead skin.

Do this and you’ll have perfect hair and scalp health.

l haven’t tried aloe vera but i’ve heard coconut oil is useless and can leave your hair smelling like vomit cause of the chemical it decomposes into, but it’s worth a try

honestly it might be the hot water, i’ve stopped doing lukewarm and cold ones cause it’s gotten so cold at my place so i’ll start them again

Don't use too much and get natural cold pressed coconut oil. Mine smells good, like coconut. You want it to coat your scalp, not your hair.

Dont listen to others I use a piroctone shampoo once a week and my seb dermatitis is 99% gone

i have this issue and am yet to solve it. however I have times when my scalp is really bad like right now and other times where its almost completely clear. I think the common denominator is drying of hte scalp leading to the body overproducing oils which then leads to dandruff. Currently its winter, when we go out our skin is dried so then the body starts producing greater amounts of oils to maintain the skin. If we stay out in those conditions this would be a good thing and our skin and hair would remain in good condition. However we dont stay out in the cold, we go from cold to warm. I found this to. cause me acne which I addressed by increasing my moisturization after i go outside. As for my scalp I dont do anything to moisturize after it becomes dry. So my thinking is that if I moisturize my scalp after it becomes dry/stripped of essential oils (like via a hot shower) then I should fix my dandruff.

I haven't tried this yet as I dont know what to. use for moisturizer. Id prefer something natural so I dont fuck around with my hormones/system

What should I use for moisturizer? Do eggs work for this at all lol

Coconut oil or tallow.
tallow smells like shit though (at leased the pure tallows I have for cooking) do you have a specific tallow recommendation for hair moisturization?

It smells like nothing after it gets absorbed. If yours has potent smell it hasnt been strained properly.

Just discovered that i had this shit after ignoring for years jfl.

Last time it appeared (7mo ago) it got nuked since I was treating H pyloria with heavy Amoxicillin and Clarithromycin for 2 weeks.

My hair is usually long so i never noticed the red areas on my scalp and they didn't itch much since I only shampooed once a month and only showered with water.
Only care I used for my hair was tea tree oil + peppermint oil all 100%, which nuked my dandruff and flakiness into oblivion.

This became an issue recently after I stopped working (just jobmaxx theory), started eating more carbs and itching my scalp from boredom, main cause however i believe was shampooing my hair more (2-3x a week), leaving it dry and inflamed, it became irritated.

Other cause was possibly that I started using almond oil, feeding the yeast.

If you want a permanent solution it's keto diet.
But my brain can't function without carbs so I still eat some (5-10%)

I heard that you should cycle the shampoos, using ketoconazole / zinc / piroctone shampoos every other day.

I'm not planning to use a corticosteroids since they have horrid side effects.

PS
Using coconut oil will just feed the yeast as according to this website. (many ppl swear by it)
