Hi,
im 16, turning 17 and somehow only recently noticed my severe overbite (almost 6mm). Its not teeth, its my lower jaw.

Orthos wont do shit on me beacuse insurance doesnt cover it after 16yo where im at so im at a loss of options here.

If i jut i look pretty alright but ive heard it can cause serious trouble with TMJ or whatever.

My side profile is also heavily affected by the reccessed jaw.
Would braces do anything and if not, what should i do? I havent got an insane budget but im ready to invest into looking good.

If i go ahead with anything i will keep you guys posted with before/afters

Braces might help id wait till your jaw is fully developed tho

id say regular excerise make sure your breathing through your nose could help but maybe grow out facial hair to cope🤷 but theres always surgery but thats like some pussy shi imo

dont do braces, it wont affect your fucked jaw i would go for surgery when 18

yeah i mean thats prolly what im gon do but what you think about herbst? in practice my jaw is still developing
mostly cope bro sadly the facial bones are nearly at the end of development after 16 theres not going to be a crazy ascension without surgery since its a bone issue

you do need bimax if you want to correct your overbite. Lefort 1 will correct around 95% of the recession, but if you have the money you can do a double jaw surgery since its going to correct 100%, make sure to check for the right surgeon to minimize risks of an infection

isnt lefort 1 upper jaw?

this is my side profile, one of the pic is with me jutting.

lefort 1 cuts the jaw and pushes it in the direction where the overbite is that way the lower jaw will adapt to it
okay, could you take a look at the imgur and see if you still think i should do that
