My skin is getting very flakey and dry. Would exfoliating 1-2x a week be beneficial?

Ideally you should still exfoliate but since your skin is flaky and dry it will only exacerbate the issue so don't.

No retin a for face

i’m thinking bha because AHA makes you sun sensitive
Yeah I used a BHA one before but I don’t now since I’m on accutane. It’s good tbh can be used 1-2x a week

wash face then apply retin a a few hours before sleep. about 10 mins before sleep i put on lotion.

i wake up, wash face, lotion.

then lotion throughout the day if it’s flakey

a banna face mask or eating bannas can help as well as vitamin c serum and Vaseline

Apply it every other day until your skin stops flaking, then increase

Flaking is not good

its like peeling a bit. it’s dead skin

How long have you been using it for?

The slight gains that applying it every day gives you isnt worth the damaged moisture barrier. Some people's skin just cant handle retin-a everyday right away, they have to build up.

Dont use an aha, if your skin is flaking, it means the retin-a is exfoliating more than your skin can handle already.

be careful,

the thing about breaking your moisture barrier is, you might have to completely stop retin-a for a bit until your moisture barrier repairs itself

how long u think. i’ll do one more day of this and if it’s bad i’ll take a break

use retin-a 3 times a week till you stop flaking.

A completely broken moisture barrier can take 3-8 weeks of just moisturizing (nothing else) , so be careful.
