Should i get braces?

Im 13 and I have gaps in my teeth and my mother has been asked by my orthodontist to send pictures of my teeth, I’ve heard that braces recess you, should i ask for a specific type of braces or just refuse them as a whole?

if it's for your teeth then yeah sure, but if you think that braces will ascend you then don't. because they won't ascend you

okay thanks, i am partially wanting them because im insecure about my teeth and braces will cover them
