Honestly, no. It's already pretty long and is honestly some people's goal, it looks great the way it is and keeping a the wound taped open so it doesn't close would just fuck your looks up, and if you are careful can fuck your symmetry to hell, eyes are where people focus on the most when conversing and you wouldn't want to risk it.

YES ABSOLUTELY, im planning to redo mines tmrw after doing some research and watching some medial canthopexy vids, you can actually keep the medial canthus as is after the cut for a very long time just by keep it stretched and not using the muscle in nor around the area were the cut was made. the only bad part is the risks such as infections going blind etc but just dont cut too deep learn the eyes anatomy and youll be fine
