Should I stop wearing my retainer?

I'm really happy with how my teeth turned out and I don't want to risk them getting crooked again. However ppl say that retainers are ortho scam and you don't need them and it would prevent you from properly mewing. What do?

I don’t wear my retainer anymore and my palate has expanded a little (it’s been 6 months). I tried my retainer on a few weeks ago and I couldn’t even put it in because my teeth had moved so much.

I had to wear mine for grinding though. I don’t grind anymore but I think I only ground my teeth because I have a cross bite so the retainer is basically putting a bandaid over a flesh wound.

Yes when you will remove it your teeth will lose their perfection, that's why it's stupid to use braces just to get "perfect" teeth because it indicates that you will have to wear a retainer forever.

Braces should only be used for really fucked teeth, like teeth that grow on the gum (With palate expansion), an overjet. At least these cases should not have any relapse on these particular problems.

Just having crooked teeth is not a big deal on a man.

If you rely on your teeth to be attractive as a man, just question yourself tbh... Even on women it is not a big deal if the face is really attractive.

Retainers and braces don't push your maxilla back, and retainers definetly don't make your palate worse.

I was wearing a night-guard until 6 months ago and now it doesn’t fit so my teeth have definitely shifted. My ortho said there were good as well.

A night guard is diferent from a retainer. And I don't see why your palette would be kept in place because of a piece of plastic that didn't push your teeth back.
Retainers ffrom after braces are fine. If you remove them you basically wasted 5k on the braces, for your palate getting a little bit wider (And that depends on person to person)

No retainer is just the palstic mold to keep your teeth in shape.
If your teeth looked bad before braces, and you take your retainer out, it will just revert back. Which is why anyone with braces shouldn't risk taking there retainer out really.
