Should i take off retainer to widen face at 19?

My friend took his off at 18 and got a gap between his top two front teeth and noticed facial widening. Should i also take mine off? Im 19 with a narrow face…

Just talk to your dentist about possibly getting a palate expander. Don't take it off

ive heard itll just tip teeth at this age and that MARPE is better but MARPE is not a cosmetic surgery from what ive researched… almost always descends people…

Its not confirmed that braces/retainers stop your palate growth as far as i know, but i believe it partially is, i have a really wide palate and a white jaw, but my tooth is gaped, so it may be cause of that.

Retainers definitely stop or at least hinder palate growth. How can your palate grow if all your teeth are being held in place? ?

Hard to say because, braces dont make your jaw smaller even though it changes your teeth
