Silicone vs titanium

Is silicone implants a good choice? I’d be paying 4k less for my trimax im planning vs titanium. I heard the if the doctor screw fixates the silicone implant you should be perfectly fine. I asked my surgeon if he does this and he said of course.

peek and medpor tend to be the best all-rounder materials but some users here don’t like medpor as it facilitates vascular ingrowth, making a revision harder.

Titanium always. Very compatible with the human body, rarely rejects in the long run, and much more sturdy, which means you'll have way less of a risk of post-surgery recession. Titanium is also safe for MRIs if that's a concern.

Do you know if it's uncomfortable in cold? That's literally the only thing keeping me between PEEK or Titanium. I don't wanna change my lifestyle / move elsewhere just for an implant.

A lot don't suffer significantly according to post-op surveys. Some patients experience feelings of their implants being "cold" in extremely low temperatures, (below 8 degrees c), but this tends to be the case moreso for patients with larger titanium implants such as those used in hip or knee surgeries. The plates used for jaw surgery are very small.
Overall, given that titanium is sturdier, there's much less of a risk of relapse (returning to your pre-op jaw structure), and that they're biocompatible, I'd seriously consider going titanium over silicone. Much less issues in the long run.
