I've been applying both lugol's iodine and retinol to my deep pitted scars.
So far, the ugly holes that looked like oversized pores have been coming off of the side of my nose while being replaced by new skin tissue. The lower portion of the side of my nose flaked and feel off, leaving fresh, taut, red, new skin.
Both the iodine and the retinol have been drying out the top layer of scarred skin while supporting the growing skin beneath the skin with holes in it. This is leaving me with near perfect skin, while I would have had ugly, scarred skin otherwise if I didn't use both iodine and retinol.
I'm getting whiteheads, but that's because the clogged pores are surfacing. This is what some people refer to as a "skin purge".
