wondering if I should hop on accutane, tretinoin has done almost nothing for me. I still have all the acne scars I had when I first started

And I still have the discoloration on where my smile lines used to be. My acne isn’t that bad it’s just the scars/darkspots and little hyperpigmentation that I’m mostly worried about.

Accutane will do absolutely nothing for Post Inflamatory Erythema, Post Inflamatory Hyperpigmentation, or any other sort of discoloration. It shrinks sebaceous glands which prevent acne, but doesn't change the skin's complexion. You are best off looking into procedures such as laser treatment to treat scars and discoloration.
