I went to the dermatologist today because of my skin. got isotretinoin mepha. Should I continue my old skincare routine and if so when should I take it. Does isotretinoin mepha even work?

btw old skincare routine

3% vitamin c serum
spf
moisturiser

Isotretinoin is literally the Jesus Christ of skincare, of course it works.

Your old skincare sounds good, Cleansing, SPF and Moisturization or an Oil are always needed regardless of what other actives you're using, they're foundational for any skincare regimen. Vitamin C Serum is situational, and depends on what you're using it for, probably brightening your skin complexion or reducing blemishes, if that's the issue you were trying to tackle and it helped then keep it, otherwise remove it. If you're unsure whether it helped or not, take it out of your skincare temporarily and see how your skin reacts, you can add it back it around 6 weeks later and see if your skin makes any improvement.

If it doesn't and Iso did most of the work, then just take it out. Don't use actives your skin doesn't need.

Only got 10mg she gave it is cause my acne is mid - low
10mg should be plenty, trust the dermatologist, if you don't react then get back to them and you may get a bigger dose recommended, regardless, I don't think that'll be needed.

stay on your old routine for a while and look for reaction, some cleansers can be too harsh for a skin on iso, especially if they have acids in them
