The quality of the proportions of your face and projection of the bones are highly correlated withe surface area of the skull plates (skull size) anyway. Just look at people with gigantism/acromegaly and compare these with people with exceptionally small skulls. The mandible for example tends to be proportionally longer in people with larger skulls.
And skull size on its own adds an irreplacable layer to facial attractiveness (in males) because it makes the eyes look smaller (they don't grow), which looks more masculine.
These are the reasons skull size is important beyond looking intimidating.
