I have an extremely interesting case that I think a lot of people would benefit immensely from hearing.
Just got off a call with my sleep apnea doctor. Test results show mild/moderate sleep apnea. We both came to the conclusion
that camouflage orthodontics pulled back my underbite and although fixed my mandible, fucked up my sleeping even more. My route is: CPAP, mandibular advancement braces (which is just gay talk for getting my underbite back, although they say it wont do that if i use it correctly, but why would i risk it?), fixing nasal congestion with sinus rinses, and ultimately surgery to actually fix the issue. What should I do? is CPAP + bimax the only way to fix the issue?
I don't regret orthodontics, people compliment me way more and life has gotten so much easier due to increased attractiveness because it fixed my mandible, and improved my maxilla. but this is a cautionary tale. If you're recessed, get ready for surgery. Sleep Apnea is one great way to get covered by insurance. I'm positive that many people here are solely unattractive because they are RECESSED. If you're not fixing that recession with braces or surgery, you're wasting your time. ANY improvement in reccessedcels = increased PSL. Stop coping and fix the real issue.
