I have an extremely interesting case that I think a lot of people would benefit immensely from hearing.

Just got off a call with my sleep apnea doctor. Test results show mild/moderate sleep apnea. We both came to the conclusion
that camouflage orthodontics pulled back my underbite and although fixed my mandible, fucked up my sleeping even more. My route is: CPAP, mandibular advancement braces (which is just gay talk for getting my underbite back, although they say it wont do that if i use it correctly, but why would i risk it?), fixing nasal congestion with sinus rinses, and ultimately surgery to actually fix the issue. What should I do? is CPAP + bimax the only way to fix the issue?

I don't regret orthodontics, people compliment me way more and life has gotten so much easier due to increased attractiveness because it fixed my mandible, and improved my maxilla. but this is a cautionary tale. If you're recessed, get ready for surgery. Sleep Apnea is one great way to get covered by insurance. I'm positive that many people here are solely unattractive because they are RECESSED. If you're not fixing that recession with braces or surgery, you're wasting your time. ANY improvement in reccessedcels = increased PSL. Stop coping and fix the real issue.

you quite literally have less posts than me JFL. CPAP machine then bimaxillary advancement surgery. Is that so hard for your tiny brain to understand? Keep rotting while I'm actually getting things done.

What's your AHI-Score? Sounds like a good plan to me - advancing both jaws. You can push onwards from there for more looksmaxxes.

AHI-Score was 15.8. Not terrible but insurance will still cover thankfully. I'm still hesitant on advancing my lower jaw but I'm very excited to see where this path goes.

This is a pretty high score considering your age. Are you overweight? Mind pm'ing pictures? All the best

That's the route I will take too my friend. Definetly get CPAP as long as you don't have ur bimax. It will fix possible sleeping issues, even though it won't reduce the risks of getting a heart attack or something else. Save money, get a bimax & braces. Then check again if you have sleep apnea.
Got my appointment in 10 days too, hopefully I don't have anything.

Did you mean overbite? Why would the orthodontist pull back your already underbite mandible? Wouldn’t that cause you even more underbite?
Underbite, Class 3 Malloclusion = jaw jutting too forward. Basically my side profile was like this: \ now it's more flatter and looks much more natural. My sleep apnea doctor theorized that perhaps my bodies formation of an underbite was done to help CURE the sleep apnea. This could potentially be a huge discovery of why some people have underbites.

now that my mandible is more flatter, my apnea has gotten worse but I aesthetically look better. It's likely a recession of the maxilla that is causing all these issues, which is only cured completely by surgery? I'm still figuring it out but it's such an interesting case study.

I didn't even take age into consideration, maybe it is bad for younger people, but I'm 20. I am definitely not overweight. I'm 6'0 and it's hard for me even bulk.

Oh so your jaw was pulled backwards which fixed your bite but just made the whole face more recessed

currently wearing invisalign, is that enough to fix recession though? might have to go through the surgery route to fix it ngl

That's amazing and I wish you the best of luck on your journey. I didn't know it doesn't reduce the risks of heart attacks, that'll help convince those around me to support surgery so thank you for that info. Can't wait to move past all this, I'll share my results after CPAP and surgery. I thank people like you on this forum for helping me get to the root cause of my issues.

Honestly, it's a possibility it made me more recessed. But my before pictures were absolutely brutal. My teeth were extremely crooked everywhere and my bite looked retarded in pictures. It seriously ascended me. I still have a strong jaw and my bite only moved a few mms. With surgery + mandibular sleep apnea braces, I'll get back what I lost and hopefully ascend. I have no issues with woman but I want to become extremely model attractive + fix my sleep issues.

I'm latino so I am ethnicmaxxed with lots of eurocentric features + good indigenous features. orange/green undertones(betacarotone & vitamin d helps skintone), green eyes, grooming + skincare maxxed (tretinon since i was 14), thick ass hair, good model tier weight. It's true I'm slightly recessed but my other features make up for it.

As for making woman actually stay or going on a date, be extremely liberal socialist and a slight asshole. I noticed that latino girls especially gravitate towards me, sometimes white girls as well. Just don't be a weird fuck or desperate idk. Woman can just sense when you're a creep. I have younger sister that I basically raised so she's indirectly taught me how to understand and not be weird around woman.

My ortho told me that most surgeons recommend braces before surgery if you have crooked teeth. I looked it up and it's true, especially with bimax. Every individual case is different. Invisalign will in most cases, definitely improve recession aesthetically, but may never completely fix the root issue. It's a good starting path for sure.

Thank you my dude, I don't know if it's 100% true but I've read that somewhere. So basically the risk of stroke etc. stays the same, but you'll still have a way better quality of life. Definetly get your nose checked too, collapsed sidewalls can cause sleep apnea too. If there are jaw related issues which lead to sleep apnea, a bimax with counterclockwise rotation can help. Narrow palate > MSE. In general you could also switch ur sleeping position, sleeping on the back is the worst if you have sleep apnea, sleeping on your stomach is also not better.
Definetly keep us updated bro, wish you the best of luck once you'll get any surgeries.
Edit: also definetly google what things to avoid and to do with sleep apnea. Training ur neck is a no go for example.

My gf shows me pictures of her friends from colombia and the woman there are INSANELY beautiful. you're winning my dude I'm definitely jealous lol. I'm in the slums of the city and most people are individualistic, ghetto, and recessed. I wish I grew up in my native latin country (country near colombia)

I personally have yet to see any actual ascension from MSE, only ogre face so I'm staying away. It's a great device but it's obviously still going through trials and errors. Instead, there seems to be a lot of ascension surrounding bimax, paranasal implants. We still have yet to fully cure recession so I'm going with surgery and alternative ways. Such as fixing my shit posture, proper mewing technique with chewing+braces to increase chance of bone reconstruction (braces make bones more malleable, my theory is that mewing will thus be more effective). Who knows how far the rabbit hole truly goes though.

Interesting. I’ve never thought about that.

That may be true but I have a really narrow palate and airway issues so I may get it anyway. Besides, it’s needed to allow facemask to be effective. (Lefort 1 wouldn’t bring my whole maxilla forward which is what I want)

braces make bones more malleable
Can you explain/post source?

I know that braces inhibit expansion and cannot find anything on how they increase bone malleability.

That is really bad given your age and weight. You need to get it fixed 100% CPAP is hell, get jaw surgery.

My doctor said it barely reached the threshold for moderate (15) so it's not "really bad." That's around 30. But I will be slowly be working upwards to possible surgery. First I gotta try out the small things and see what helps.

I am aware of the thresholds. It's barely moderate now. The thing is that soft tissue support fades as you age and it will get worse. It's not a matter of if but when. I am surprised your doctor didn't tell you that.

You should go to an orthodontist asap, because you will need braces before bimax. You can try CPAP but likely you won't last long with that machine. There are also "splints" for your jaw that dislocate the mandible to open the airway, these are no long term solution tho and usually given to overweight patients while they lose weight to improve sleep apnea. Also I'm not sure you can wear those with braces.

I mentioned countless times that I'm already on invisalign. And about not wanting to do the mandible extension because I had an underbite. Did you not read the post? I have a large amount of time to figure out the root cause of the issue. I can't just go straight to bimax when it could be literally anything else. I'll figure it out, thanks for helping out.

I read the post but not every comment. you can get jaw surgery without significant advancement of the mandibula, for sleep apnea the rotation (CCW) matters more. They would advance your maxilla with it.

You can consider getting your tonsils removed, that helps some people with sleep apnea as well. I am afraid there is not much more to do for you given your situation.

Being on Invisalign and preparing for jaw surgery with braces are two completely different things that have nothing to do witch each other. You teeth would be moved differently in preparation for jaw surgery.
