I get 9 hours of sleep per day. But it is usually not contiguous. Firstly there is the issue of BPH, forcing me to get up and urinate twice per night, the BPH is treatable with a minor procedure called Rezum (there are others, but that is the best IMO), but I have not found an office with the Rezum machine as yet that does not have a mask requirement. I refuse to wear a Fauci mask. The other issue is that I have a narrow subhuman airway, I am too old, and have too much dental work, to get a Lefort 3 or other procedure to fix it, thus I have to sleep on my side to avoid sleep apnea. Because I have broad shoulders (see pic) , sleeping on my side causes shoulder pain and I have to roll over every hour. Often I will just get up and do something after 7 hours of crap sleep, then sleep 2 more hours latter in day. I have tried elaborate constructions to remedy this, but had only limited success. The most promising answer going forward is a CPAP machine, and I purchased one 6 months ago, I am just putting off using it because it so onerous.

As far as that "study", it is just a correlation study. I don't take it seriously. DM hyping much to do about nothing.

9hrs is very good even non-contiguous

for your urination problem try double-voiding or triple-voiding before going to bed. look it up

try not to do any procedures on your prostate if you can help it. try all other avenues first. there isn't much as far as meds you can take, but try to always double-void anytime you urinate. it will improve your quality of life

idk anything about sleep apnea but try buying a mattress pad or a softer mattress. you should not feel any pain sleeping on your side. that's just an indication your mattress is too firm. memory foam is very plush but try wool first if you can, i strongly suspect that VOCs from polyurethane might cause things like cancer and they're trying to bury the info as long as they can. if you buy memory foam anything try to offgas it for a month before using it. also, buy a wool pillow, they're $100+ but so worth it

also you should really think about stopping the T injections, it's just unhealthy and puts all kinds of stress on your body and mind, natty life is best

That being said I’m so fucking pissed at my life. I decided to sleep at 9:40 cuz tomorrow is a workcel day, and I woke up at 12 and been unable to sleep since then (it’s now 2:38) . I hope I catch sleep by 3 . Plz pray for me

Same shit happened to me today, I spent almost 24 hours awake yesterday went to sleep tired at 9:30pm and woke up feeling rested and refreshed at fucking 11:30pm only slept 2 hours, spent the rest of the time browsing the internet until I went to sleep at like 4am and woke up at 6:30 am, now I have to wait the entire day for 9:30pm to go to sleep so I better don't get tired, I tried doing my part, stupid body just does whatever I guess.
