I've seen a lot of guys with sleep trouble on this forum so here you go.

The importance of sleeping:
Long story short sleep affects everything in your body, brain, hormones, skin ...
So if you don't sleep enough you'll just look and feel like shit.

How to sleepmaxx:

First of all, sleeping well is a matter of habits, you'll have to adapt your body and mind to a healthy sleeping routine so don't panic if you don't fall asleep in 5min after following this guide
  1. Drop caffeine: stop caffeine 3 hours before going to bed, don't drink coffee at all if you can because caffeine lures your body into thinking it's not tired.
  2. Stop screen 2 hours before going to bed: I don't mean put a blue light filter, just stop browsing internet or watching netflix like a retard, because not only the light will keep you awake but the stimulation of video games, youtube, etc will keep your mind awake (this is probably the hardest part for me).
  3. Sleep in a complete dark room: buy heavy curtains and get rid of all source of light in your room (shut down electronic devices)
  4. Go to sleep at the same time everyday, and wake up at the same time everyday: as I said, sleeping is a matter of habits so let your body know when it is time to sleep / awake by teaching him.
  5. Sleep in a fresh room with a heavy blanket: I think the optimal temperature is around 17C°
  6. Exercise during the day: gymaxxing or else, take the stairs instead of the elevator, walk instead of taking the car / bus, just don't stay seated on your fatass all day
  7. Get sunlight first thing in the morning: Sunlight will wake you up, don't wear sunglasses in the morning even if it's very sunny outside
  8. Drink water when waking up
  9. Get magnesium supplement before going to bed
  10. Listen to classical music when lying in your bed: I'm not a big fan of classical music but it really helps when I'm trying to fall asleep. It completely shuts me down, see if it works for you.
  11. Don't eat too heavy before going to bed: it will decrease you sleep quality
That's it, there's probably more to say about this subject but try to implement all these tips and it should be enough.

First answer for everyone struggling with sleep should be melatonin. Perhaps also reducing your stress levels if that's the cause either trough lifestyle changes or supplements (ashwagandha is a good start).

When your cells are done producing energy they send a signal to your brain to tell them they're done working, the more signal received the more you'll need to rest and the more you'll be tired. Caffeine stops your brain from receiving these signals, making you feel like you still have energy when your body just need to rest.

Exercising: studies are to be made www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4341978 but several studies show that exercising can improve sleep quality, especially deep sleep

8 & 9 you need to wake up well if you want to make a clear cut between sleep time and awake time, it stops you from feeling sleepy all day

10: have you ever tried ?
