It's easier to be high social status when you are better-looking, but personality plays a huge role indeed. More important than looks.

When you have high social status, but aren't the best looking, you could easily outslay social outcast good-looking guys because you are simply meeting way more women and getting way more opportunities.

And women aren't even that important. Having a lot of diverse social interactions is simply great for life quality, even if you aren't slaying.
