Soul ties

The soul seems like a bad choice of wording. It’s just religious rhetoric referring to the consciousness you carry on indefinitely according to them.

To answer the question, it’s seemingly to do with the idea of offspring thus an evolutionary progression. You cannot reproduce with a cow so having sex with it seems less so tying in its nature.

The soul tie is likely just a human response so you can look after the other parent of your offspring; without them, your child suffers. We aren’t evolved to have sex for pleasure and thus it occurs seemingly each time.
