I think Northern men look better than Southern men, while Southern/Central women typically look better than Northern women.

It really depends on individual phenotype. I'm not a very big fan of strong epicanthic folds, which are more prevalent in the North, which give the appearance of very small stretched out eyes.

But then again, there's a saying in Korea "남남북녀," which means South Korean man (who are still Northern Asians) and North Korean women, which suggests that men from the Southern part of the peninsula are more handsome, while women from the Northern part of the peninsula are more beautiful.

Chinese here, Northern Chinese just mog southern Chinese in general. Southern cities are just known to be full of ugly and short people but lots of northern cities have tall and fairly gl guys (qingdao, heilongjiang, shandong).

One thing to note though is that the Japanese are a mixed-race people, although they are more "Northern" than Koreans and Northern Chinese genetically.

They're Yayoi and Jomon (a group that exhibits Western Eurasian features and possesses AASI (South Indian-like) DNA.

Hence, why ABCC11 mutation frequencies, a recessive gene responsible for dry earwax and less body odor, is much less prevalent in Japanese populations while virtually all Koreans (99.996%) and most Northern Chinese have a AA genotype.

The people of southeast Asia are descended from the Southern Chinese. The Western SEA countries are also mixed with Caucasoid dna from Northern India/Central Asia, and Arab traders (which brought Islam to the South of Asia--South Thailand/Malaysia).

One thing to note though is that the Japanese are a mixed-race people, although they are more "Northern" than Koreans and Northern Chinese genetically.

Koreans and Chinese tend to look similar, while Japanese often have distinctive looks.
