Would spending my savings on Trimax be worth it if I’m hltn? People are telling me that I’m crazy for wanting to waste all my money on surgery that might go wrong.

depends on whether you have an income source, but generally speaking its a bad idea to blow your entire savings on surgeries

As others have said you’ll need a lot more than just the sticker price of surgery to be safe before committing

Also there’s the psychological aspect of it

For me the grind to get this much together has been so brutal that all I want to do anymore is just hold onto it in a pathetic little HYSA as tightly as I can

you should look up this guy Martin Shkreli he’s a good investor and even he says if you have under 1mil you should invest your money on you.

Plastic surgery I think is the next best thing after education(if u know what u want to do) for that

No I’m struggling to find orthodontists near me that actually have experience decompensating for jaw surgery.

You need to have a very good orthodontist because decomp is so important.

Yeah we plan on extracting my upper premolars as well as wisdom teeth.

@Gaia262 used this guy I believe - I've sent them an enquiry if they are open to working with a foreign surgeon for decompensation in advance so I atleast can set everything up without worrying who I can go to

the UK is such a shithole for jaw surgery lol no one does decomp

Yea and that is not something you want to do for a revision as the price will be even worse if you fuck up one more time

Yeah I struggled with this issue a lot too. It helps if your ortho has good communication with the maxfac so everyone’s on the same page.

When I consulted Dr Bell half the orthos in London had no idea about the advanced orthodontic stuff he was talking about.

Who are you going with for surgery?

Fucking retards, I think it should be mandatory for all orthos to understand ins and outs of jaw surgery and decomp as well as post jaw surgery orthodontics.

Would you guys consider doing surgery first? I just made a little thread on it and both of you guys seem to know more about all of this than i do.

Some people are not able to do surgery first, due to the dental occlusion.

Because I have a class 1 bite, but class 2 skeletal, if we did surgery first we wouldn’t be able to make any substantial movement of the mandible during the BSSO, and the Lefort 1 would have to be large to get any proper movement.

It would basically make your mandible still look relatively recessed compared to the maxilla.

So bringing the teeth back is needed in order to make a larger BSSO advancement. And making a class 1 skeletal and dental occlusion.

Lmk if that makes sense, it’s kinda hard to explain on texts

Gotchu that makes sense. I have a class 3 bite like edge to edge to slight underbite. Doesn't that actually make surgery more feasible compared to a bite like yours??

You mean surgery first? I’m not very sure because idk what your bite is like. Get CT scans

There is no real yes or no answer. I mean having enough for a revison is always better, but if you have to save like 5 years to have enough for a revison and have to be misrable because of your looks that whole time... Its just about how much risk you are willing to take on, and how much bimax actually can improve your looks. Just risk to reward. The only thing you can do to minimise risk of getting botched is do reaserch (surgon, ortho, and so you also know what is goining on and how it works), but it is never a gaurante.
