It's because people seek money and status to improve their "value". And unhappiness occurs when people realize that their value is still low despite having money and status.

Life is quite funny once you understand the blackpill and how it is applied to everything in life.

I personally know a millionaire (his wealth is around hundreds of millions, which is insanely huge in a poor country like Vietnam). And he literally went apeshit recently after seeing how people on Facebook love a gang member in prison.
