I've heard everywhere about how training the suprahyoid muscles (neck curls and chin tucks) can elevate the hyoid bone and create a sharper jawline. I've been doing these exercises everyday for 2 months but haven't seen any improvements (im already 12% bf). I just wanted to see if there's anyone here that actually saw legit results from these exercises?

There is no evidence of suprahyoid training to raise the hyoid bone, its mainly genetical placing, same way u cant move your clavicles higher by training upper chest or moving your zygos above by training massetter.

For a tighter hyoid, get lean or just inject aqualyx to the neck.

u aint doin them right then it has to fuckin burn, like hella n do till failure while keeping good tounge

yea bro i've been doing them until i can feel my suprahyoids burn and until failure. like 3-6 sets daily depends. maybe the guy below is right and its cope

from my personal experience, it helped me a shit ton and made me look way better than i was before.

what exercises did you do? just chintucks? how many sets and how frequently did you train them?

imo you cant change the resting position of the hyoid bone however you can train them to contract and give that "elevation appearance" the mylohyoid, geniohyoid and so on contract/elevate during swallowing, mewing and whatnot. Hence it can potentially make your chin appear tighter

Hyoid bone resting position isnt something u can meaningfully train. Muscle contraction can move it during swallowing or speaking but it cant permanently elevate its baseline position

I agree you probably can’t repos the hyoid long term, but improving suprahyoid muscle and tongue posture can change how the submental area looks, which is what most people actually care about
 
i did it, ts cope asf

u can just move the back of your tongue all the way up to see if hyoid training would even do anything for u 😭

It can slightly change the appearance of the submental area while the muscles are engaged, but this doesnt leads to lasting morphological change of jawline. The biggest issue there is submental fat, and there is "training" to spot reduce fat

Yeaa, i wasn’t implying spot fat reduction. Mainly was talking about the muscle and posture effects and body fat percentage defo plays a huge role in how the submental area looks
