A theoretical way to make fat dissolvers at home with 5 ingredients

Theory- What are fat dissolvers?

Fat dissolvers are injections formulated with the active ingredient sodium deoxycholate (DC), which are designed to target and dissolve localised deposits of fat.

The mechanism of action involves lipolysis and cell membrane disruption, wherein sodium deoxycholate will emulsify fat cell membranes, while phosphatidylcholine aids in lipid metabolism and emulsification.

However, fat dissolvers are expensive, so here is a COMPLETELY THEORETICAL guide to synthesis an Aqualyx knock off.


Aqualyx- Ingredients and their purposes

Aqualyx is an aqueous compound solution, with slow release sugar that reduces the biological half life of the solution, minimising side effects. Do not skimp on these ingredients. There's a reason they're there.

Ingredients by %:
  1. Water for injection- must be sterile do not use tap water (87%)
  2. Sodium deoxycholate- (3α,5α,12α)-3,12-dihydroxy-5-cholan-24-acid (7.5%)
  3. Buffer systems (4.2%)
  4. Sodium chloride (0.8%)
  5. Polymer from 3,6-Anhydro-L-Galactose and D-Galactose (0.5%)

Aqualyx is an aqueous compound solution, with slow release sugar that reduces the biological half life of the solution, minimising side effects. Do not skimp on the buffer. There's a reason it is there.

As you can see the solution is 87% water, only 7.5% is actually DC. You could synthesis this for a fraction of the price.

Synthesis and cost
The sodium deoxycholate in aqualyx is empirically and structurally identical to the sodium deoxycholate you can purchase online.

Aqualyx contains 7.5% DC, which in a standard 10ml vial is only equivalent to 0.75g.

You can buy 10 grams of DC for $60, which is over 13 vials of aqualyx.


Method
Preface: Do your own research. Purely theoretical.

Perform all procedures in a laminar flow hood following surface decontamination with 70% ethanol UV sterilize the workspace for 15-20 minutes prior to use and ensure all equipment is sterile before introduction to the workspace.


Ingredients :
  • Sodium Deoxycholate
  • NaCl - basically just salt
  • Hydrochloric Acid (HCl), 1M sterile solution
  • Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH), 1M sterile solution
  • Water sterile and distilled
This protocol prepares 100 mL:


1. Weigh 0.85 grams salt
2. Dissolve the salt in excess STERILE DISTILLED WATER in a seperate beaker
3. Bring the saline solution to a boil for 10 minutes to sterilize
4. Reduce until saline solution is 90 mls and let it cool to room temp
5. Dissolve exactly 7.5 grams of the sodium deoxycholate into the saline solution
6. Heat to 30 degrees celcius until everything is dissolved
7. Measure pH, adjust to 7.4 if needed, adding:
  • 1M NaOH to increase pH
  • 1M HCl to decrease pH
8. Add water until final volume reaches 100ml
9. Filter, sterilize, transfer to sterile glass and seal



Completely theoretical, do not attempt.
